I've recently discovered Pinterest. And I'm obsessed! I had heard about it a while back, but I suppose I didn't really understand what it was, because I was never interested. I love to organize, everything to have a place and in its rightful place makes my heart sing! And until I live on my own, it will probably be a pipe dream. Unfortunately, my apartment doesn't really have the space for me to spread out both figuratively and literally. I also find inspiration everywhere! So I have so many bookmarks that I get lost in them. No, really. I do. Often. Another of my tricks is to save pictures with the name of the site as the title (It helps me remember where I get things from. I don't like to not give credit!). So now that I know that all those hours I spend stumbling and looking up inspiration on the internet for freelance and for myself and I don't need to save all of those pictures or bookmark all of those pages AND have it all in one spot! Oh dear lord, I do believe I am in heaven. But be warned - Pinterest is incredibly, INCREDIBLY addictive! Heres the link to my Pinterest Boards if anyone is interested -
[link]In other creative news, I live in probably the best area ever! My apartment building is on the corner of a quiet street and a busy street. The busy street is great because its in the art district of my town, so there are so many graphic design companies, studios, workshops, and resources around its crazy! For example: across the street is a store that specialized in reclaimed building materials (and a little bit down the road is its counterpart but for used furniture, household items, appliances, and more), there are two different light shops, one of which has a rhino head hanging outside (they decorate him for holidays and I love him

), and theres a consignment store next door! Because of my great location, I was able to drive across the street and get approx. 26' of reclaimed wood from an old barn for $7! I'm going to turn that into a beautiful new headboard for my room and who knows what I'll do with the scraps! AND right next door theres a construction company of sorts (actually I'm not sure what it is, I'm just guessing) and they put out their used wooden pallets for people to take. So I grabbed one today so that I could make some wicked cool pallet art that I've been just itching to make recently. Good thing I have friends with power tools, because they are going to be so generous and let me borrow them so I can actually finish my project! Though to be honest, they're aren't too smart in letting me handle power tools. No one should let me handle power tools unsupervised. I cannot wait to get started
